My lens isn't really pink, but this blog is through my point of view. If point of views had color, mine would be PINK!

Top Ten on Tuesday - Quotes that Inspire

While in school and in college, I always strived to be the best I could and to always work hard to meet the goals I set for myself. Now, as a business owner the desire to succeed is even greater, but it is so important to maintain a balance between family, friends, work, and life in general.

It is inevitable when you are working towards any goal you will be met with hurdles and road blocks a long the way.  It is easy to get discouraged or feel defeated.  It is also easy to get so consumed with your goals that your life gets off balance.

Sometimes you you need to be inspired.
Sometimes you need to be reminded of what is important.
Sometimes the words of others say it best...

1.) "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take." - Wayne Gretzky

So true, so true.  If you don't try then your surely will fail and those opportunities may not come back.

2.)"Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful."- Albert Schweitzer

This one really resonates with me because you can have a job that pays a lot and be miserable, but have a job that pays less and be so happy.  I experienced this first hand with great paying dead-end job, and boy was I miserable.  Luckily, I made it through and am pursuing my passion and am much happier.  My shopping, traveling, and spending has been significantly reduced, but my business is growing, my family and home life are total bliss,  and my sanity thanks me!

3.)"No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world." - Dead Poets Society

This is from one of my favorite movies, and it just inspires me overtime I see it.  I really felt like I had an inspirational teacher like that in high school.  He was my English teacher all through high school, and I think he inspired many of the students in his classes.

4.)"We make a living by what we get.  We make a life by what we give."- Winston Churchill

I don't know about you, but the times my life feels most fulfilled is when I do something nice for someone else.

5.)"If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them."- Henry David Thoreau

I used to have this quote posted on my desk in my college dorm room.  I just wanted to always remember to keep dreaming and then keep working towards making those dreams a reality.

6.) “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.” - Dr. Seuss

Well, who doesn't love Dr. Seuss.  If his books don't make you smile then something is wrong with you. :)  But besides creating funny and witty cartoons and books, he was a source of inspiration.  You should always remember to be yourself, and if people don't like you, then poo on them. :)

7.) "If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer." -Henry David Thoreau

This is another reminder to be yourself.  If all of these great and influential people believe you should be yourself, then there must be something to it.

8.) "Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending." -Maria Robinson.

I think everyone should remember this!  Things happen and we all make mistakes. You can't change the past, but you can change the future and make a new path for yourself.

9.)  “After all, computers crash, people die, relationships fall apart. The best we can do is breath and reboot.”- Carrie Bradshaw  (Sex and the City)

This one comes from my favorite TV shows of ALL time, and most of all it is something I need to practice.  I get so worked up and worried if things do not go as planned, and just need to learn to breathe… and reboot.

10.) “You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.”- Dr. Seuss

If you have ever been in love, you know this one is so very true.  I wake every morning and realized how blessed I am to have such an amazing husband and to have this great love in my life.

What is your favorite quote?

Here are some random photos I took yesterday that need to inspire me to go finish up our dirty laundry (that our kitty has claimed as her bed).  Oh, and while they look all sweet, a kitty swat of the paw came shortly after.  She was tired of having her doggie sister's cold, wet nose in her face. :)

  3. These are so good! That Wayne Gretsky quote should be tattooed on my forearm so I could see it all the time!
I once saw Maya Angelou speak and something she said has stuck with me since:
Be a rainbow in someone else's cloud.
She was talking about making an impression on someones life and lifting them up in some way, even if we never get to know that we did so. Just acting that way all the time.
